Partnership with St Georges |

ALHCO and St. George’s Community Housing (formally Basildon District Council) have been in Partnership since 2002 and have built a strong, mutually beneficial relationship based on trust and co-operation.
The benefits of the Partnership were demonstrated recently when St. George’s found themselves in a difficult situation after the manufacturer of a heating system, servicing a Sheltered Housing Scheme in Cromer Avenue, informed them that they could no longer repair the system. This resulted in St. George’s requiring 16 emergency installations. St. George’s approached ALHCO to help; ALHCO immediately supplied thirty fan heaters as an interim measure to ensure that the tenants’, the people at the heart of the Partnership relationship, expectations were satisfied.

ALHCO believes that the key to successful relationships is communication and we are therefore an advocate of Partnership meetings. St. George’s and ALHCO called an initial meeting with the tenants who were affected to explain the situation. This was followed by a further meeting where, alongside St. George’s and the manufacturer, ALHCO attended with our Operational Manager, Customer Services Co-ordinator, Quality Control Supervisor and the Installers and Builders. Following this meeting ALHCO’s designer visited all the properties involved.
One week after the meeting ALHCO began work on a void property, this enabled the tenants to inspect the installation, ensure they were satisfied with the finished product and the amount of work that was necessary. ALHCO is conscious of the disruption that installing a new heating system involves and therefore makes every effort to prepare and reassure the tenant.

Throughout this project the installation and electrical team remained the same and ALHCO’s Customer Services Co-ordinator visited site everyday.
